🏛️ Historical Background

Bodwad Taluka was formerly a part of Bhusawal Taluka. It was officially established as a separate taluka on 26th June 1999.
Jalgaon district holds an ancient legacy, having once been part of a region known for its cultural richness. The area has seen the rule of dynasties such as the Vakatakas, the Faruqi rulers, the Nizams of Hyderabad, and later the Marathas. In 1906, the Khandesh region was divided and East Khandesh came into existence, leading to the formation of present-day Jalgaon. With the reorganization of states in 1956, it became part of the Bombay State and later, in 1960, was included in the newly formed Maharashtra.

🌟 Shirsala – Siddheshwar Hanuman Temple (Shirsalyacha Maroti)

🙏 Shirsalyacha Maroti, as this sacred and ancient temple is popularly known, holds a special place in the hearts of devotees from Bodwad Taluka and the surrounding villages. It is a revered site of deep faith and devotion.

📜 Legend and Belief:
There is a well-known legend associated with this temple – whenever attempts were made to construct a spire (kalash) atop the temple, it would never stay intact. This mysterious occurrence has been recounted by devotees and villagers over the years, contributing to the belief that this is a truly divine and awakened place of worship.

🌺 Significance of the Self-Manifested Deity:
The idol of Lord Hanuman here is believed to be self-manifested (Swayambhu). Devotees revere him as “Navasala Pavanara Maroti” – the one who fulfills vows and prayers. This Hanuman is famed for granting blessings and protection, making it a significant spiritual center.
